REST IN OUR RELATIONSHIP

"The Lord replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”" (Exodus 33:14)

He said to her, 'I will love you till the end of time. You're my world, the air I breathe and the water I drink. Nothing can make me deny or leave you, never!' Juliet believed him to accept Frank's proposal yet had no rest in his words. She feels insecured, doubtful, uncertain and a possible rejection by her courting friend Frank. She is still restless in this relationship till date. May be due to her previous relational experience, Frank's attitudes or testimonies of others in their failed relationships.

Restlessness is now her bosom friend. Thinking this is one sided, Frank's situation can be described as worse. His blood pressure goes high when he calls Juliet and she doesn't respond. When she's with her male colleagues at work and gets worsened when he sees her status of missing one guy or the other.

Restlessness has taken seat in many people's life and causing many health challenges to them. The LORD assured Moses of rest in their relationship. God is always at peace and we can have absolute rest in His bosom because of His indwelling presence and the unfailing certainty that He is with us at all times. This assurance puts the Christian at rest in our relationship with Christ Jesus. He will never fail us at no point in time. He's the dependable One.

If we enter into God's rest, we will cease from weariness and pain of our human labour. We'll stop struggling and straining by trying to make everything happen they way it should be.

Our lives will not be like that of Juliet and Frank filled with restlessness. Instead, we'll rest with absolute faith in the undeniable truth that God Himself lives inside of us and His presence is always going with us.

"For anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from His." Hebrews 4:10

I pray for you that you enter into God's rest because you don't have to solve all of your problems all by yourself.

Beloved, I invite you to enter into God's rest with the members of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana to live with the assured peace of God. Amen!

Shalom aleichem...
