TRANSFORMED NOT ADDED LIFE

During my Secondary School days, we had a district hospital we usually visit when we go under the weather. One day I visited the hospital with a friend, Joshua to consult the medical officer. We met a medical doctor who is unfortunately a chain smoker. After all the medical examinations on my friend the doctor, seeing how I was eyeing the cigarette tray full of ashes with not less than 10 smoked cigarettes sticks in front of him, said to me “this is not good, I’m dying son, I’m dying.” He had only added knowledge to his life but has not surrendered his life to the knowledge.

“You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.” Ephesians 4:22-24

Paul tells the Ephesians church about putting away the old life and put on the new. Many Christians have just added Christ to their life instead of surrendering their life to Christ. Like the doctor, he has added knowledge to his life but do not live according to it. If we just add Jesus to our old life we remain the same until we surrender our entire life unto Him. That is to put off the old self and put on the new self.
My question to you dearly beloved is this, which Christian are you - added Christ to old life or surrendered old life to Christ?

Surrender your whole life to the teachings and life of Christ in order to live like Christ in true righteousness and holiness.

Bless you
